THE OFFICE OF DISASTER RECOVERY TO HOST WORKSHOPS

FOR BUSINESS OWNERS

“Doing Business with the Recovery”

 

The Office of Disaster Recovery invites all contractors, business owners, consultants, and other interested parties to attend the “Doing Business with the Recovery” Workshop. Workshops will take place on St. Croix at the Bennie and Martha Conference Center at the Virgin Islands Cardiac Center on July 22, 2019, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Then on St. Thomas on July 23, 2019, at the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library also from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Attendees will hear presentations from Virgin Islands Departments of Licensing and Consumer Affairs, Property and Procurement, Labor, the Virgin Islands Housing and Finance Authority, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Participants can expect to walk away with a comprehensive and clear understanding of the requirements for doing business with the recovery.

Topics include worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, how to post job vacancies, tax filing requirements, establishing and maintaining a business license, licensure examinations and certification requirements, procurement contracts, and much more.
