Road Closures Underway for Composite Pole Installations\u00a0on St. Thomas<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS (May 6, 2025) \u2013 The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (\u201cWAPA\u201d or the \u201cAuthority\u201d) advises the public that road closures are currently in effect to accommodate the installation of composite poles on the island\u2019s overhead electrical infrastructure. The work is being conducted by Haugland VI on behalf of the Authority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This project involves planting new composite poles, tree trimming, and the installation of anchors. Please note, this work is strictly limited to WAPA\u2019s overhead electrical infrastructure and will have no impact to roadways, government buildings, private properties, or other public infrastructure<\/b> beyond the temporary road closures required for the safety of the crews and the community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

  • Location:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0Pilgrim Terrace Bypass\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Affected Areas:<\/span><\/b> Route 35, Catherineberg Road, Manassah Hill Road\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A Traffic Management Plan<\/b> has been implemented for this project. All appropriate traffic control devices, detour signage, and trained personnel are on-site to safely guide traffic through and around the work areas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
