THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (July 2, 2025) \u2014 The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (\u201cWAPA\u201d or \u201cthe Authority\u201d) advises the public of scheduled weekend road closures from Pilgrim Terrace Bypass to Hospital Gade on St. Thomas as part of the ongoing Emergency Feeder 13 Project.<\/p>\n<p>Road closures will occur weekends only, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on the following dates:<br \/>\n\u2022 July 12\u201313<br \/>\n\u2022 July 19\u201320<br \/>\n\u2022 July 26\u201327<br \/>\n\u2022 August 2\u20133<br \/>\n\u2022 August 9\u201310\u2022 August 16\u201317<\/p>\n<p>To accommodate the road closure, the following detours will be in place:<br \/>\n\u2022 For Northbound Traffic: Motorists are advised to head west on Norre Gade, turn right onto Rosen Gade, continue onto Fireburn Hill, and then proceed to the Pilgrim Terrace Bypass.<br \/>\n\u2022 For Southbound Traffic: From the Pilgrim Terrace Bypass, turn right onto Fireburn Hill and then continue onto Vester Gade.<\/p>\n<p>These closures are necessary for WAPA\u2019s contractor, Haugland VI, to install new composite poles, remove wooden poles and perform other system upgrades to improve reliability and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>WAPA urges motorists to plan alternate routes, follow posted detour signs, and exercise caution when driving near the work zone.<\/p>\n<p>The Authority appreciates the community\u2019s support and cooperation as we continue infrastructure improvements that support a more reliable and storm-resilient power system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-11543\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usviodr.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/WAPA-Road-closure-map-July-250x160.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"378\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">###<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>July 2, 2025 &nbsp; Weekend Road Closures Scheduled for Emergency Feeder 13 Project on St. Thomas &nbsp; ST.
