USVI Office of Disaster Recovery Publishes 2025 Annual Recovery Progress Report<\/h1>\n

U.S. Virgin Islands<\/strong> -The Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) announces the release of its 2025 Annual Report entitled \u201cRebuild USVI,\u201d highlighting the status and progress of projects and initiatives between September 2024 and September 2025.<\/p>\n

As the entity charged with coordinating and managing federal funding awarded to support disaster recovery efforts, the report outlines the status of funding, projects, challenges, and next steps for the territory\u2019s recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver 1,000 projects have been completed, and more than $24 billion has been obligated to the territory,\u201d said ODR Director Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien. \u201cThe launch of the Rebuild USVI initiative has remained one of ODR\u2019s most important initiatives. This $14 billion innovative venture is laying the groundwork for construction to begin on over 30 critical projects between 2026 and 2027, underscoring our commitment to a modern, robust community for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ODR also covers the significant impact that recovery projects have had on the territory\u2019s economy. For Fiscal Year 2025, recovery project expenditures generated over $23.4 million in GRT. \u00abBy the end of 2025, federal funding investments will total over $24 billion\u2014five times the size of our economy. In 2024 alone, $400 million flowed through the territory, creating jobs and strengthening local businesses. These investments are not abstract figures. They represent opportunity and proof that progress is taking hold,\u201d Governor Albert Bryan Jr. said. \u201cThis is not just recovery, it is renewal. We are building a Virgin Islands that is safer, stronger, and more resilient than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n
