USDA EMERGENCY MAXIMUM ALLOTMENT
Purpose of Grant
USDA Emergency Maximum Allotments (EA) were issued based on a public emergency declaration by the Secretary of Health and Human Services under Section 319 of the Public Health Services Act related to an outbreak of COVID-19 with the issuance of an emergency or disaster declaration. Generally, states and territories report disaster related SNAP participation and issuance data to FNS on the FNS-292B Report of Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefit Issuance within 45 days of termination of disaster assistance.
