DPNR Schedules CZM Committee Meeting for St. Thomas Fire Stations

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that the following St. Thomas Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Committee Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 4:00pm. This meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Microsoft Teams.

The agenda will include:

Decision Meeting (public testimony will not be heard) on Federal Consistency Determination No. CZM0037-25- George C. Scott Fire Station Reconstruction and Safe Room Project. The project, submitted by The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services, proposes demolition and reconstruction of the station along with construction of an internal safe room. The new structure will be a single story measuring approximately 8,240 gross square feet. The proposed facility will be constructed in virtually the same footprint as the existing with a minor expanded footprint to accommodate the additional square footage. The project is located at Plot 390, Estate Anna’s Retreat, New Quarter, Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, 00802.

Decision Meeting (public testimony will not be heard) for Federal Consistency Determination, CZM0043-25- Fortuna Fire Station and Safe Room Project. The project, submitted by The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services, proposes demolition and reconstruction of the station as well as the construction of an internal safe room. The modular facility that is located on the site will be removed prior to construction. The project is located at 3C-C-1 Estate Fortuna, St. Thomas Virgin Islands, 00802.
