Feeder 13A Pilgrim terrace road

Weekend Road Closures Scheduled for Emergency Feeder 13 Project on St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (July 2, 2025) — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (“WAPA” or “the Authority”) advises the public of scheduled weekend road closures from Pilgrim Terrace Bypass to Hospital Gade on St. Thomas as part of the ongoing Emergency Feeder 13 Project.

Road closures will occur weekends only, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on the following dates:
• July 12–13
• July 19–20
• July 26–27
• August 2–3
• August 9–10• August 16–17

To accommodate the road closure, the following detours will be in place:
• For Northbound Traffic: Motorists are advised to head west on Norre Gade, turn right onto Rosen Gade, continue onto Fireburn Hill, and then proceed to the Pilgrim Terrace Bypass.
• For Southbound Traffic: From the Pilgrim Terrace Bypass, turn right onto Fireburn Hill and then continue onto Vester Gade.

These closures are necessary for WAPA’s contractor, Haugland VI, to install new composite poles, remove wooden poles and perform other system upgrades to improve reliability and resilience.

WAPA urges motorists to plan alternate routes, follow posted detour signs, and exercise caution when driving near the work zone.

The Authority appreciates the community’s support and cooperation as we continue infrastructure improvements that support a more reliable and storm-resilient power system.
