Building a Brighter Future

Last week Haugland Virgin Islands line workers continued the installation of composite power poles in Upper Contant on St. Thomas. The VI Water and Power Authority is leading operations to install 2,333 composite poles in some of the most remote areas on the island.

The project is about 45% complete, and over 1,000 poles have been installed. FEMA has obligated more than $300 million through its Public Assistance Program to support electrical distribution permanent repairs throughout the island.
