POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst Intern reports directly to the Deputy Director of Compliance and Finance and the ODR Director, performing a wide range of confidential financial support duties. This includes fiscal support for the Public Assistance (PA) program, the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), and other federally funded programs related to disaster recovery. The incumbent will assist in the financial review of disaster recovery-related grants, preparation of budgets and projections, and writing and tracking of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in compiling and disseminating PA, HMPG, and other disaster recovery-related grant programs’ performance measures and supporting statistical data
- Support payment processes in accordance to contractual and program eligibility requirements
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual review/analysis of grant obligations/expenditures
- Maintain and review PA, HMPG, and other federally funded-disaster recovery-related awards that include obligations, expenditures, and cost-share amounts;
- Prepare internal program grant reports as requested
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure grants are managed within budget
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines for data entry and payment review
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and data entry software
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and maintain a positive attitude
SALARY:
$15.00 an hour at approximately 25-30 hours a week
