Government Offices to Reopen, Public Schools to Remain Closed Following Tropical Storm Ernesto

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – In the wake of Tropical Storm Ernesto, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. is announcing the reopening of all government offices in the Virgin Islands. Government employees are asked to return to their workplaces by 8 AM tomorrow, with normal operations expected to resume at 10 AM.

Governor Bryan expressed his gratitude for the swift action of emergency and public services crews who have worked diligently to ensure a safe and expedient return to normalcy. “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our public service teams, we are able to reopen government offices and restore the services our community relies on,” said Governor Bryan. “I encourage all government employees to return to their duties as we continue to serve and support our citizens in the aftermath of Ernesto.”

While government operations will resume, Governor Bryan reminds the public that all territorial public schools will remain closed on Thursday to allow for continued cleanup and safety assessments. The decision to reopen schools will be made following a thorough evaluation of all facilities.

Governor Bryan urges everyone to stay informed through official channels as updates become available. The safety and well-being of our citizens and employees are our top priority, and we appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the community during this time.
