The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA), as the administering agency for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), announces that a public hearing has been scheduled to present projects which are being considered for funding from the CDBG-CV (CARES Act) supplemental grant allocation. These special funds (CDBG-CV) shall be used specifically to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic among persons who are low to moderate income.
Pursuant to the Citizen Participation Plan as approved by HUD, the U.S. Virgin Islands is required to seek public input relative to the needs of the Territory with regards to housing, homelessness and community development, the funding priorities which should be established, and the selection of activities to be funded. In the case of this public hearing relative to CARES Act funding, the focus of the public input should be on identifying needs and establishing priorities for projects/activities that will directly help the Territory’s ongoing efforts to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CDBG-CV (CARES Act) virtual public hearing has been scheduled as follows:
Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 5:30 PM
