U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) has released a solicitation for the third bundle of projects as outlined in the Rebuild USVI initiative. The bid package released on September 30 focuses on St. John. It includes three projects: the Myrah Keating Community Health Center, Morris deCastro Health Clinic, and the first PreK-12 school on the island, Julius E. Sprauve.
Since the Governor’s announcement during his 2024 State of the Territory address, which highlighted the need for a more innovative approach to expedite the timeline for the recovery’s massive reconstruction effort, the ODR has prioritized the release of two other bundles – for healthcare facilities on St. Croix and educational facilities on St. Thomas as well as project and construction management services to support the Super PMO staff.
“This is the first cross-sector bundle covering health and education projects, and its release reaffirms ODR’s dedication to adhering to the timeline distributed at Rebuild USVI’s Industry Day held in December 2023,” said Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien, Director of the Office of Disaster Recovery. “We are on track, and with the recent approval of 428 projects ahead of FEMA’s deadline, plans are steadily advancing.”
Contractors interested in bidding on RFP 008-2024 must attend the virtual pre-bid conference on October 16 and participate in mandatory site visits on October 23. Details are provided in the bid package, which is available by request via email to [email protected].
In the queue for solicitation is the horizontal bundle for Northside Road on St. Croix, incorporating water, sewer, and powerline undergrounding systems as well as post-construction roadway repair and drainage improvements.
The Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery remains committed to supporting the residents of the Virgin Islands through recovery and reconstruction efforts, ensuring a resilient and sustainable future for the Territory.
