U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) is reaching out to applicants of the EnVIsion Tomorrow Program, requesting cooperation in updating their applications. Due to the program’s lapse over time, the office has issued a continued interest survey to ensure that the most current contact and demographic information is available. This initiative is part of ODR’s ongoing efforts to expedite the processing and prioritization of applications for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery’s (CDBG-DR) EnVIsion Tomorrow Homeowner Rehabilitation Program.
In November 2023, the Office of Disaster Recovery assumed programmatic management of the CDBG-DR program, aiming to accelerate the pace of assistance and ensure efficient service delivery to all eligible applicants. Recognizing the significant challenges faced by the community, ODR is committed to providing timely and effective support.
“We understand the hardships that our residents have endured, and we are dedicated to making this transition to ODR as smooth and efficient as possible,” said Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien, Director of the Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery. “The goal is to readily identify individuals who are displaced, disabled, or living in dire conditions to prioritize assistance.”
Letters have been mailed to all applicants, and recipients are asked to complete and return the enclosed form by August 9, 2024. Forms can be submitted by email, mail, or by dropping them off in person at our offices on St. Croix or St. Thomas. The survey and accompanying letter can be found on ODR’s website in English and Spanish. To access those documents and for more information on how to submit the form, visit https://www.usviodr.com/envision-tomorrow-applicant-update-form/. Please note that the application period is currently closed, and the program is focused on completing the remaining homes with eligible repairs.
If you have any questions or need assistance completing the survey, you are encouraged to contact the program’s staff at 1(866)520-1310 or email [email protected].
The Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery remains committed to supporting the residents of the Virgin Islands through recovery and reconstruction efforts, ensuring a resilient and sustainable future for the Territory.
