Plaskett Presents $42.4 Million Check to Human Services

for Construction of Head Start Facilities Territory-Wide

On August 2, 2022, Stacey Plaskett, VI Delegate to Congress, presented a check worth $42.4 million in disaster recovery grants to the VI Department of Human Services – Office of Head Start for capital projects. The presentation held at the Mars Hill Head Start Center on St. Croix included remarks from Congresswoman Plaskett, ODR Director Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien, DHS Commissioner Kimberley Causey-Gomez, DHS Assistant Commissioner Carla Benjamin, and Head Start Administrator Masikia Lewis.

The zero match funding will help construct state-of-the-art multi-purpose Head Start facilities across the Territory. Click below to watch yesterday’s ceremony.
