Raising Resilience One Pole at a Time

On Saturday, several crews from Haugland Group LLC were dispatched to the east end of St. Croix to continue the installation of composite poles on the island.

Since April, around 763 wooden poles have been replaced with more resilient, wind-resistant composite poles. Haugland Energy’s current contract with the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority will raise about 3,600 composite poles on St. Croix alone.

To date, approximately 1,286 poles have been installed. The process can take anywhere from 4-6 hours. Check out the pictures below to see how it’s all done!
