Recovery in Focus Kicks Off 2023 Season with an Update on Hospitals

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) and the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA), in collaboration with WTJX-TV Channel 12 (WTJX), announces the broadcast of the first episode of the 2023 season of Recovery in Focus airing on Thursday, March 30 at 8 p.m. on WTJX and on Facebook Live at facebook.com/wtjx.

The March 2023 episode will focus on the recovery progress of the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center (JFL) in St. Croix, Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC) in St. Thomas, and Myrah Keating Health Center in St. John.

JFL Chief Executive Officer Douglas Koch and Darryl Smalls, Executive Director of the Territorial Hospital Redevelopment Team, sit down with ODR Director Adrienne L. Williams-Octalien on St. Croix to discuss facility reconstruction territory-wide, the future of hospitals in the territory, and the transition plan for JFL North. At the same time, SRMC CEO Tina Comissiong periodically shares her thoughts on reconstruction efforts and the vision for hospitals in the St. Thomas/St. John district.

WTJX will also share the broadcast online on the PBS app, which can be viewed via TV streaming devices such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, etc., and on smart devices.

Recovery in Focus’ premiered in March 2020, and new episodes air on the last Thursday of the month.
