UVI and VITEMA to host Public Meetings on
Territorial Hazard Mitigation & Resiliency Plan

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) invites the community to participate in meetings geared towards the development of the Territorial Hazard Mitigation & Resiliency Plan.

The Territorial Hazard Mitigation & Resiliency Plan is a Federal Government requirement. An approved plan will provide the territory with access to funding which will support current and future disaster recovery and mitigation activities.

The community plays a vital role in planning the disaster-resistant future of the Virgin Islands. Your input and insight are critical in creating a plan that is reflective of the entire territory. Feedback from these meetings will assist the project team in refining the final hazard mitigation strategy for the territory.

The meetings are being held on:

• St. Thomas
December 3 – Small Business Development Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

• St. John
December 4 – Nazareth Lutheran Church Parish Hall from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• St. Croix
December 5 – Henry E. Rohlsen Airport Conference Room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For questions and additional information, contact UVI at 340-693-1628 or VITEMA at 340-774-2244.
