SOLICITATION
The Virgin Islands State Historic Preservation Office (VISHPO) is soliciting applications for historic preservation projects at properties damaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Properties must be listed in, or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places to be able to apply for assistance. The application package can be requested by sending an email to [email protected] or applying online at https://dpnr.vi.gov/vi-state-historic-preservation/applications.
Applications may be submitted electronically or hand-delivered to VISHPO Offices. They can also be mailed via US Postal Mail to Fort Christian Museum VI State Historic Preservation Office 5064 Fortets Strade, St. Thomas, USVI 00802 and must be received by March 31, 2021, with a timestamp of 5:00 PM or earlier.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Eligible applicants are individuals, businesses, private owners, governmental agencies, organizations that are a public entity (non-federal), or a non-profit with proof of 501 (c) (3) status as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. Non- profits must demonstrate active status for the three years prior to their storm incident date. Projects must involve either National Historic Landmarks, historic properties listed in, or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places within the U.S. Virgin Islands that were damaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. This program will prioritize contributing properties located within the National Register Historic Districts of Charlotte Amalie, Christiansted, Frederiksted, and Cruz Bay.
